Virtual Challenge Routes
We know that life can seem like a repetitive cycle of waking up, eating, working and sleeping. And that the daily grind can fill our minds and bodies with negative energy and stress. That’s why we created our 'Vrekking', virtual trekking platform, so our community has a place to return to self-exploration, self-discovery, and sharing a journey with other like-minded individuals.
What is Vrekking
Our virtual treks follow routes laid down by the homeward bound returning children that we support at Snowland Journeys. The routes can be as long as 250km and take the children up to 28 days to complete, although we have a variety of routes on offer. We have documented these routes and can now offer them as virtual trekking routes for you to complete within the safety of your known environments, especially at this present time in the world. We have included waypoint markers on our routes providing you with amazing images, videos, and information about the local area and our children's journeys - a truly authentic experience.
All funds raised will go towards our Reintegration Programme for Himalayan children.
How to Vrek
Simply click the link to our challenge. You have the option to be a solo challenger, create a team challenge, or go head to head with a friend. Choose one of the routes from our platform and off you go!
By carrying out your daily exercise, whether it be walking, rowing, or any activity you enjoy... you will be covering the mileage of your chosen route. You have the flexibility to start and stop whenever you like. Using Strava you can connect your challenge and your mileage will be automatically updated to your personalised Vrekking page.
